First chartered in 1997, the Wyoming Alpha chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon has established itself as one of the most prestigious fraternities at the University of Wyoming. Through the use of our Balanced Man Program, all of our members excel in their studies while maintaining a healthy and enjoyable college experience. This is evident as our chapter has had the highest average GPA of all fraternities on campus for the last four years in a row.
SigEp has been leading the efforts to change the stigma of a typical fraternity, being the first fraternity on campus to implement a substance-free house. We have also completely eliminated any form of pledging or hazing; once any member accepts their invitation to join, they are instantly a full-rights member, equal to the rest of the chapter. We also received our Residential Learning Community accreditation in 2018 from the SigEp National Headquarters.
SigEp is dedicated to serve our community. Every semester, we host philanthropy events that benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization of Wyoming. We also require every member to perform community service, as we believe our chapter is only as strong as the community built around it.
Even while consistently striving academically, SigEp maintains a very active social presence in our community. We are constantly hosting and attending socials with the other fraternities and sororities on campus, multiple brotherhood events throughout the semester, tailgates before every home football game, two formals every year and much more.
